In India, every individual is issued a unique identity. This identity card is called Aadhaar. Aadhar contains 12 digit numeric fields. The government established UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) in 2009 to regulates the entire system of enrollment. The enrollment and updating process of Aadhaar is completed through Aadhaar Kendra. Within a quite short period of time, a big percentage of India’s population has been enrolled with the UIDAI system. Any person who is living in India for more than 182 days or more can obtain Aadhar. People should keep in mind that Aadhaar is not for NRI (Non-Resident Indian).
If you want an Aadhar card, you can visit any Aadhar enrollment center near your office or home. You can use Google Maps as well to locate the nearest Aadhaar Kendra. Please keep in mind that the applicant can apply for the Aadhar by submitting the required documents. Once your application is received, you will get an Aadhaar card within 90 days from the date of application.
The enrollment fee is zero as the Government wants to enroll as many people as possible to make its population statistics up to date. There are two important pieces of information that are saved during the Aadhaar enrollment process. One is demographic details while the other is biometric details. Demographic details include name, DoB (date of birth), and address of the applicant.
The third wave of corona is at rising and is creating lots of health issues in the country. This is not just unique to India, the whole world is facing this hard time. In order to counter the threat of Covid, we as a nation have to fight aggregately. Otherwise, we will pay a huge penalty in the form of a death toll that is already growing at an exponential rate. In order to control the pandemic, phase 3 is still in progress in every state of the country. The targeted age is 45 or above and will cover approximately 65 lakh people enrolled in the Aadhaar system.
The vaccination process started back in January this year when people 60 years or above were vaccinated. After that in the second phase, age bracket 45-59 with comorbidities were vaccinated to counter the speed of covid-19 virus among the nation. The third phase is for every person that falls in the age bracket of 45-59 regardless of the factor of comorbidities.
People can get the vaccine shot from the government as well as from the private hospitals. These hospitals will operate from 9 am to 9 pm. This is a big-time duration. The reason behind this long time span is to avoid the rush at the vaccination centers and to reduce the chances of corona spread. Those people who have already registered for the vaccination can visit vaccination centers from 9 am to 3 pm. However, unregistered people can benefit as well from 3 pm to 9 pm but they have to show their identity. The identity can be proved either via an Aadhaar card or via any other valid identity document.
