It is one of the most important identity documents in India. Recently a news has been reported that a remote voting facility might be launched in 2024 stated by the CEC. In New Delhi, on Saturday, Sunil Arora, the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) passed his remarks by saying that sometimes many people are not able to pay a visit to the polling station to cast their vote because of some issues or crises, that why the Government is planning to launch a “remote voting” facility in 2024 for those individuals. In the 2024 Lok Sabha Election, franchisees will be able to exercise their rights from a remote area, with the first pilot project expected to begin in the next 2-3 months. This facility will help many of the residents to cast their votes by the remote voting facility.

Mr. Arora said while he was addressing at the Sansad Ratna Awards 2021 event, which was held on Saturday said that a team and the expert have come from the department of IIT Chennai and currently they are working on the process of remote voting or we can say blockchain voting. Arora further added that the workers are completing their work in a proper way and he said that they are willing to see the first project within 2-3 months. NRI voting is another significant long-term electoral reform that the CEC, which is retiring next month, aims to introduce in the next six or might be in a year. The CEC said the commission would hold a seminar with the stakeholder regarding the modalities, as suggested by the external affairs ministry, to amend the rules to enable NRIs to vote by e-mail ballot.

As previously an order was passed by the government that the residents have to connect their Aadhaar with many other documents like PAN card, Ration card, and the voter ID as well.

Mr. Arora also praised the law minister’s recent statement that the government was considering the European Commission’s proposal to connect Aadhaar with the EPIC voter card, noting that this would eliminate the need for multiple cards to recognize voters at the polling booth. In an interview, which was taken by the time of India, Arora said regarding the remote voting system, that the European Commission’s had done a lot of promotion on bigger incorporation so that in an election no one will be left to cast their vote. As nowadays, technology has been updated a lot.

The European Commission (EC) began a research project early this year to allow remote voting for those who are not able to cast their vote on the election day such as students, patients, professionals, migrant workers, and critical service providers, using technology as a great enabler. It’s important to note that the project isn’t aimed at internet voting, nor does it enable people to vote from their homes. Transparency and secrecy of voting are also driving factors for the commission,” he said, adding that before the facility is rolled out, there will be process improvements and broader discussions with all stakeholders, including political parties.

Supreme Court Questions Cancellation Of 3 Crore Ration Cards

Aadhaar is one of the most important identity documents and previously the government had made it compulsory to link the Aadhaar card with many other documents such as PAN card, and Ration card. A ration card is a card through which people who cannot afford to buy groceries can have for themselves and for their family through using a ration card at a very low price.

Currently, news has been reported that on Wednesday that the Supreme Court has shown serious concern over the Central Government’s decision to cancel 3 crore ration cards due to the non-linking of the Aadhaar card with the ration card. Supreme Court had passed the order to the Government of all states to give a quick response on this matter. This matter should not be construed as adversarial, according to a bench composed of Chief Justice SA Bobde, Justice AS Bopanna, and V Ramasubramanian. The matter will be brought to a conclusion, according to the bench. Senior advocate Colin Gonsalves, who is representing petitioner Koili Devi, stated at the outset that the petition is about a bigger problem.

“We see the issue at hand, and I’ve dealt with similar cases in the Bombay High Court, and I believe this case should be brought before the high court in question.” The Chief Justice of the International Court of Justice (CJI) stated. The bench informed Gonsalves that he had requested a broad type of relief and had broadened the scope of the case.

Gonsalves continued in his claim that it is a critical issue, citing the fact that the government has revoked approximately three crore ration cards. Gonsalves has convinced the bench that the Central Government has canceled the ration cards, so the case will be heard on another day. Gonsalves’ claim that the Central Government has canceled the ration cards is false, according to Additional Solicitor General AmanLekhi. “Because of the Aadhaar issue, we are requesting a response from the Centre. This is not a case in which the parties are pitted against each other. Finally, we’ll hear it. send out a notice that must be returned within four weeks “, said the bench.

According to Lekhi, a notice has already been issued in the matter, and the Centre’s response is on file. According to Gonsalves, a notice has been issued on the primary plea, but the alternative grievance has been resolved. “The principal issue is the cancellation of 3 crore ration cards, which will result in hunger death,” Gonsalves explained.

The Supreme Court had requested responses from all states on December 9, 2019, in response to allegations of hunger deaths of people who were denied ration supplies due to a lack of valid Aadhaar cards. According to reports, the details were not due to starvation, the Centre had previously stated that “no one has been denied food due to a lack of valid Aadhaar cards.” The PIL was filed by Devi, whose 11-year-old daughter Santoshi died of suffocation on September 28, 2018, in the Simdega District of Jharkhand. Gudiya Devi, Santoshi’s sister, is a co-petitioner in the case. Santoshi, who came from an illiterate and poor Dalit family, died as a result of the local organization that canceled her family’s ration card because they were not able to connect their Aadhaar card with their ration card, according to the petition.

Intellect Design Arena Launches Ai Powered Solution For Aadhaar

Aadhaar is a unique identity of an Individual that contains 12-digits and the issuer of the Aadhaar card is the UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) department. It contains all the demographic details like your name, address, mobile number, email ID, and date of birth whereas, your biometric detail contains information like your ten fingerprints, two Iris scans, and a facial photograph of an individual. The enrollment for the first time is free of cost, voluntary service. We can say that it is a gift from the Indian Government to their residents. However, future changes in biometric or demographic data may charge up to the amount of INR 50 from the person.

In today’s article, we are discussing the technologies of AI and Intellect Design Arena. AI stands for Artificial Intelligence. Artificial intelligence allows computers and machines to imitate the human mind’s vision, learning, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Artificial intelligence (AI) is a concept used in computer science to describe any system that displays human-like intelligence.

Nowadays, the biggest update has been done by the Intellect Design Arena department. Intellect Design Arena is a world pioneer in finance, insurance, and other financial services technologies. Intellect is a singularly oriented Product organization that caters to the needs of financial institutions at different levels of technology acceptance. It was founded on 18th April 2011. Its headquarter is located in Chennai, India. Now coming back to the case the Intelligence Architecture/Design Arena has introduced magic Aadhaar, a robust Aadhaar processing solution powered by artificial intelligence that can define, extract, verify, and mask Aadhaar data. For full enforcement and protection, this will hyper-digitize the end-to-end method of automated classification, retrieval, and masking of Aadhaar numbers.

“The magic Aadhaar card, operated by IDX platform, is a cognitive knowledge extraction, validation, and enrichment platform that extracts contextually meaningful information from bundles of unstructured, semi-organized, and structured sources using AI technologies,” said Banesh Prabhu, CEO of Intellect SEEC. He further added that “Computer vision, NLP, machine/deep learning, and ORC pipelines are also part of the solution. It has a 98 percent accuracy rating and can handle over 500 paper forms in 87 percent less time.

In addition, the approach contextually describes the Aadhaar Trend throughout the paper”. Individuals communicating with telecom, healthcare, and government agencies are concerned about the protection and secrecy of their publicly identifiable details. With the digestion process in these firms speeding up, regulatory bodies (RBI, IRDA, etc.) and the Indian Supreme Court have given directives on the use and storing of copies of Aadhaar cards while processing any purchase stated by the company. This approach would assist businesses in adhering to the guidelines set out by the Supreme Court.

In the end, Mr. Prabhu clarifies the 12-digits by saying that The solution hides the first eight digits of the Aadhaar number while keeping the last four digits visible, and it can be used as a real-time API or in batch processing mode on stored documents.
