Aadhar has become a necessity in our life. In every step of life, you need this number to avail of various services. The business of mutual funds is on rising in India. In a mutual fund, investors pool their money and invest in different types of securities such as stocks, money markets, and other types of financial assets. The gain earned is distributed among the participants subject to the agreed proportion of gains or losses. In order to smooth line the operating procedures of mutual funds, Central Government has advised the residents of India to link their Aadhar number with mutual funds, if they invested in mutual funds. According to Prevention of Money Laundering (Maintenance of Records) Second Amendment Rules, 2017, mutual fund companies must collect Aadhar numbers from mutual fund investors. They should verify the details of their investors so that the link process can be completed for the benefit of them.
On the other hand, a Demat account is an online account whereby the account holder keeps the financial securities or assets in electronic form. This helps in avoiding the traditional method of holding paper-based share certificates. In India, there are two organizations that administer the Demat account. One is Central Depository Services & the other is National Security Depository Limited.
