Aadhar is one of the most important documents in India. It contains complete information about you. UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) is the controlling institution that is responsible to make the entire system smooth, simple yet threat-proof. As UIDAI saves applicant details in its database, it employes foolproof measures so that only authorized people can access it. In order to improve the user-friendliness of the system, UIDAI setup its official web portal to allow people to do various queries from the comfort of their home without visiting the Aadhaar center.
As Aadhaar has become a necessity in India, you must have it. If you have not applied for it, visit any nearby Aadhaar center with supporting documents to enroll in the UIDAI system. The most common problem people face is the wrong data entry of their biodata. So, you must make sure that you proofread your biodata before your details are forwarded for processing and issuance of the Aadhaar card. Normally, your Aadhaar card with be delivered to you within 90 days from the date of the enrollment application. This is a quite long period and if after 90 days, you come to know that there are some problems that occurred during the enrollment stage, then it will take further days. So, it is always a good idea to check the Aadhaar card status online regularly to keep you updated about your application status.
Check Aadhar Card Status Online
In order to check your Aadhaar card status, you need to follow the steps below:
- Open the UIDAI official web portal uidai.gov.in
- Click the link Enroll & Get Aadhaar from the blue horizontal navigation.
- Now, you will see three form fields. Enter Enrollment ID (EID) and Date/Time details as printed on the enrollment slip.
- Now enter the security code as shown in the image next to the 3rd form field.
- Now click the check status button.
If your Aadhaar details have been verified, then you will see a message that your Aadhaar card has been generated & dispatched.
You should expect your card to arrive at your registered mailing address within few days.
If your Aadhaar application is under process, you can check the status again after few days by following the procedure as described above.
Check Status Via SMS
If due to some reason, you are not able to access the internet, then you will not be able to check Aadhaar card status. UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) has a solution to this problem as well as it is continuously finding new ways to facilitate applicants in every step.
Compose a new message on your mobile phone in the following format:
UID STATUS 12345678912345 and send this SMS to mobile number 51969. You will have to replace 1234567891234 with your own enrollment ID printed on the EID slip. Within few minutes, you will get your Aadhaar card status along with your Aadhaar number if your Aadhar verification has completed.
